Footprints: The Path of Your Life (2016)—Spain
My wife and I have done three pilgrimage walks — the 500-mile Camino Santiago or Way of St. James in Spain (2012), which is the subject of this documentary film, the 458-mile pilgrimage across southern France called "Le Chemin du Puy" (2014), and then in 2016 the 350-mile "La Via di Francesco" from Florence to Assisi to Rome. All of which is to say that I was very excited to watch this documentary film about ten guys from Gilbert, Arizona, who joined a Catholic priest to walk the Camino Santiago. Even though this movie is not a great film, it's still a good story worth watching, especially if it provokes viewers to consider walking the Camino themselves. The scenery is beautiful, and the pilgrims are enthusiastic. One important note: these pilgrims took what is called the Camino del Norte on the northern coast of Spain, and not the main route called the Camino Frances, which is far and away the most traveled route. Every year more than 200,000 people walk the camino. So, why not you?! I watched this film on Netflix Streaming.
