Paul McCartney Carpool Karaoke (2018)
On his late-night talk show The Late Late Show, James Corden does a recurring feature called Carpool Karaoke in which he has famous musicians ride around town with him in a car while they sing their hit songs together. Whereas the television format itself draws an audience of a million or two, the after burn on the internet has been enormous. The segment that featured Adele, for example, has 183 million views so far. Justin Bieber clicks in at 135 million. Since the show debuted in 2015, there have been forty-five episodes as I write, the most recent of which was with Sir Paul McCartney (age 76!) on June 21, 2018. This is 24-minutes of pure music nostalgia and unfettered joy. The episode was featured on NPR's "Fresh Air" less than a week later, giving it an extra boost.
